Pregnant and mourning at my fiancé’s grave, I discovered a strange phone — Then everything went black
|The following is a story of immense love, profound grief, mystery, and solace.
Ann has been an orphaned child who had never experienced love until she met Robert, the man of her dreams. Being with him felt like living a fairytale. His affection for her, his passion for their life together, and the attention he showered her with every moment of every day made her feel like the most loved woman.
Spending Sundays with his mom and dad offered a glimpse of what it looked like to be part of a loving family, something Ann hadn’t experienced until then.
When Robert popped the question, Ann answered with a resounding “Yes.”
She was over the moon and couldn’t stop picturing their future together.
Unfortunately, months before their wedding, a tragedy struck. Ann, who was carrying twins at the time, received a call that changed her life forever. It was the police. They told her that Robert had been involved in an accident and that he was taken to the hospital.
The way to the hospital seemed like an eternity. Ann hoped Robert was fine. She cried and prayed at the same time, but unfortunately, seeing the doctor’s grim face meant her worst fear came true. There was nothing doctors could do. Robert was dead.
The days that followed were silent and dull. Ann’s heart was filled with grief. It was as though she was still unaware of the loss. She couldn’t cry, she was frozen, her entire world crashed into a million pieces.
Robert’s funeral happened quickly, and Ann didn’t have the chance to say her final goodbyes. His mother didn’t want Ann to see Robert because he didn’t resemble himself and she wanted Ann to remember him as the handsome person he was.
Ann’s days consisted of long visits of her late husband’s grave. She would spend hours and hours staring at his tombstone, telling him of the kicks of the twins that were growing inside her belly.
One day, as she was mourning at Robert’s grave, Ann heard a phone ringing. It was placed right next to her. She wondered who could have left it there.
When she picked it up, she heard Robert’s voice.
How could that be? Panicked and scared, Ann blacked out. When she opened her eyes she was at a hospital, with Robert’s mom standing at her side and asking if she had heard Robert too.
But Robert was dead. His mother saw his dead body. How could he be calling them?
Ann and Robert’s mom went to the police station and talked to a police officer who didn’t think they were crazy. On the contrary, he believed someone tried to manipulate them so he called a detective.
The detective was determined to get to the bottom of those calls.
Weeks passed by and Ann finally received a call from the authorities. They told her that they were able to track where those calls were coming from; a house nearby that belonged to a woman named Ursula.
Ann was left in shock. Ursula was Robert’s ex-girlfriend. What was going on? Could Robert be alive?
When she got to the police station, Ann was told that Ursula used some old recordings to trick Ann into believing that Robert wasn’t dead.
Allegedly, when she learned that Ann fell pregnant with Robert’s twins, she became obsessed and started stalking them. When Robert died, something snapped in her and all she wanted was to hurt Ann and Robert’s parents.
Ann was shocked. That little hope that her husband could indeed be alive was now gone, but Ann got a closure. She had Robert’s parents by her side, and she knew that things were going to be alright.
