In addition to their intense personal chemistry, Coolidge and Kristofferson were a musical duo that enthralled listeners with their songs.

Upon the triumph of Kristofferson’s acting career, Coolidge was accused by some of befriending him in an attempt to achieve professional success. She forcefully disputed these charges, reminding audiences that, “When Kris and I were doing concerts, he didn’t have hit records. Yes, I did. Coolidge was open about how Kristofferson’s acting career affected the. She claimed that he avoided the recording studio because he was constantly getting offers for movies.

Their union had reached a breaking point by 1980, which resulted in their divorce. To make things easier on herself, Coolidge made the decision to concentrate on her own profession rather than request a settlement.

Coolidge remarked, “I didn’t feel I was doing her any favors by going the distance when it was obvious her parents weren’t in harmony.” Even after their divorce, the pair maintained a unique bond in spite of their reservations.

At the age of 88, Kristofferson passed away on September 28, 2024. When he passed away, his family was there to greet him at his Maui home. After his passing, his family issued a statement stating that he had died quietly.
