A dad’s reaction to his plate being taken away mid-meal at a restaurant has left viewers online in hysterics.

The parent had been pranked by his family, with the moment being recorded and shared to TikTok by his daughter Lorena, under @lorivallejoo. The man was captured looking shocked and displeased as a waitress, after being instructed to prank the parent by his family, suddenly pulled his burger and fries dish from under him.

The video, which was shared to the platform on September 30, has been viewed more than 15.2 million times, sparking amused comments from viewers worldwide.

TikTok users were able to see the dad enjoying his hearty meal while surrounded by family at a restaurant in Michigan. His moment of bliss was swiftly interrupted after a waitress sped past, yanking his plate away from under him while he ate.

The man reacted with a stunned expression, looking in the direction of the waitress with anger before realizing that his family had orchestrated the joke. He was then filmed laughing along with those dining with him.

An overlaid text on the video read: “We asked the waitress to take his food while he was eating!”

“No surprise that he was so chill with it,” the video’s creator, the man’s daughter, said.

Viewers online have reacted with humor towards the lighthearted post, many expressing their funny takes on the moment in the comments, or sharing how they would have reacted to the prank.

“SHE DID IT SO CONFIDENTLY TOO,” one viewer said.

Another added: “I hate when [people] ask me stuff like this cause sometimes [people] get soooo mad when you mess with them and you’re just there like.”

“As a server. That would’ve been so much fun to do,” another added.

Another said: “The way he looked back down at the table to make sure he saw that right hahaha.”

“I would’ve been heated and boxed my food to go after that,” another said.

Another added: “They way she avoided looking at him or even making a single hint at an emotion makes me think she has a child.”

“The way he waited for anybody say something and help,” another said. “Hilarious but I felt bad for him.”

The post has been liked more than 2.2 million times to date.
