Woman Diagnosed With Infertility Fails Adoption—Then Gets a Miracle

A woman from Texas has finally received the news she’s been hoping for after enduring years of miscarriages and a failed adoption.

On October 15, Brittany Dawn Nelson, 33, posted a video on Instagram showing her friends and family reacting to the news of her pregnancy, capturing their joyful and emotional responses.

“We walked through a failed adoption earlier this year and have had a miscarriage and a chemical pregnancy in the last three years since we got married,” Nelson told Newsweek.

Failed adoptions occur when a match has been made between a child and a prospective family but the adoption process is not completed before legal finalization. They can result from various factors, including decisions by a birth parent, who may choose to parent the child after initially planning to place them for adoption; legal or administrative barriers; and a mismatch in expectations if a family feels unprepared for adoption.

In Nelson’s video, she can be seen surprising her friends and family in different ways. She shows some a positive pregnancy test, while others receive a more personalized approach.

The clip shows her announcing her pregnancy to her dad by gifting him a onesie that says, “Future gate opener,” beneath an image of farmyard animals. Nelson told Newsweek that her dad was her favorite person to share the news with.

“He had been standing in faith that we would soon be parents, so it was a full-circle moment getting to share the exciting news with him,” she said.

In one of Nelson’s previous Instagram reels, she said she and her partner had been given a 0.005 percent change of conceiving after being diagnosed with infertility at the beginning of the year, making these moments even more special.

Nelson captioned the clip: “New core memories, unlocked. We are so blessed by the people that have been standing in faith with us.” The video, posted on her Instagram account @realbrittanydawn, has received 1.7 million views and more than 73,000 likes.

It has also garnered thousands of comments from social media users, with many saying their hearts were warmed after watching the video.

“These reactions are how you know that you have the best village behind you to help you with your sweet miracle baby,” one user commented. Another added: “This is so wholesome and brought tears to my eyes. Knowing how much you all have prayed for this little one. I’m just so happy to see this! God is so good.”
