Marvel Rivals Tier List: The Best and Worst Characters in Marvel Rivals
|Marvel Rivals is finally out, with the superhero-themed hero shooter attracting millions of players in its first weekend. The NetEase-developed multiplayer game has a frankly absurd amount of characters to play as, and not every character is created equal, with some clearly better than others.
To help you decide which superhero – or villain – to jump into a game with, we put together this tier list, ranking every single character in Marvel Rivals from the top-tier game winners to characters that desperately need a rework right out of the gate.
Marvel Rivals: S-Tier Characters
S-Tier characters in Marvel Rivals are the characters that dominate play with their powerful kits and great synergy. Some of these characters, like Spider-Man, have a high skill floor to use effectively, but once you’ve learned how to use them well, you’ll have a great chance of leading your team to victory.
Here are all of the S-Tier characters in Marvel Rivals:
- Squirrel Girl (Duel)
- Cloak and Dagger (Strat)
- Iron Fist (Duel)
- Captain America (Vanguard)
- Iron Man (Duel)
- Spider-Man (Duel)
- Moon Knight (Duel)
- Luna Snow (Strat)
- Groot (Vanguard)
- Dr Strange (Vanguard)
Marvel Rivals: A-Tier Characters
A-Tier characters in Marvel Rivals are still excellent characters, just not quite as good as S-Tier characters. These characters are typically very good at what they do, but don’t quite have the utility, sustainability, and flexibility of their S-tier counterparts. They also tend to be – on average – a little bit easier to play, making them well worth checking out.
Here are all of the A-Tier characters in Marvel Rivals:
- Psylocke (Duel)
- Wolverine (Duel)
- Jeff the Land Shark (Strat)
- Magneto (Vanguard)
- Hulk (Vanguard)
- Storm (Duel)
- Winter Soldier (Duel)
- Venom (Vanguard)
- Hela (Duel)
- Mantis (Strat)
- Punisher (Duel)
- Adam Warlock (Strat)
Marvel Rivals: B-Tier Characters
B-Tier characters in Marvel Rivals are okay-ish, with some strengths and just as many drawbacks. In the right team composition, these characters can be valuable assets, but their kits are usually a little bit underdeveloped compared to A-Tier and especially S-Tier characters. Most B-Tier characters are relatively easy to play, though, with simple kits that work pretty much how you’d expect them to. Still, if you’re confident enough to pick an A- or S-Tier character instead, you should probably do so.
- Peni Parker (Vanguard)
- Magik (Duel)
- Black Widow (Duel)
- Loki (Strat)
- Black Panther (Duel)
- Rocket Raccoon (Strat)
- Scarlet Witch (Duel)
- Star-Lord (Duel)
- Hawkeye (Duel)
Marvel Rivals: C-Tier Characters
C-Tier characters in Marvel Rivals are the lowest tier in the game right now. For the most part, these characters should pretty much never be picked — there are always better options. While these characters can be useful in extremely specific and rare circumstances, their drawbacks far outnumber their strengths, and they just can’t hold a candle to any other character in their class. Thankfully, there are plenty more to choose from, so just avoid bothering with C-Tier characters until they’ve had a few buffs in future updates.
- Thor (Vanguard)
- Namor (Duel)
