NFL Reportedly Extends Halftime Runtime For Beyoncé’s Upcoming Christmas Performance
|Beyoncé’s Christmas Halftime special will reportedly be longer than any other.
TMZ Sports reported that Bey has been given a 20 minute set, which would be an extended set considering the standard runtime is between 12-15 minutes. However, her longtime publicist Yvette Noel-Schure denied the claim.
“Untrue,” she tweeted on Thursday morning (Dec. 12). “Her performance will not be 20 minutes.”
Dubbed a “COWBOY CARTER CHRISTMAS,” Bey’s Halftime show during the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans game airs at 4:30 p.m ET on Christmas Day live on Netflix.
In a cryptic trailer for the event, the singer stood next to a cactus holiday tree, donned in all-white with the oversized cowboy hat and boots to match.
It was first announced that Bey would return to her hometown to perform on Christmas Day just ahead of Thanksgiving. Using lyrics from the chorus of COWBOY CARTER‘s intro track, “AMERIICAN REQUIEM,” she sings, “It’s a lotta chatter in here/ But let me make myself clear/ Can you hear me?” in the promotional teaser.
It plays as the camera pans out to Bey wearing a fitted dress with the American flag colors atop a car covered in roses with the license plate that read, “BNCNTRY,” (been country).
Netflix confirmed the halftime show will be “the first live performance of songs from her genre-bending and record-breaking COWBOY CARTER album.”
Bey will also be bringing out some special guests who were featured on the LP. It wasn’t shared who exactly will be there, but her collaborators include Linda Martell, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, Reyna Roberts, Miley Cyrus, Dolly Parton, Willie Jones, Post Malone, Willie Nelson, and Shaboozey.
