During a new episode of his New Heights podcast with his brother Jason Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs star opened up about the July 3 celebration and described it as a night neither he nor Taylor will ever forget.
“It was insane. It’s a night out we’ll never forget,” Travis said.
And while the couple managed to keep the ceremony extremely private, Travis gave fans a rare glimpse into what made the night so special.
Why Taylor and Travis Chose Madison Square Garden
The couple reportedly wanted their wedding to feel intimate and personal, despite the enormous amount of attention surrounding them.
According to Travis, Madison Square Garden turned out to be the perfect place.
“We wanted to do it somewhere where we could have a very intimate and genuine setting without a lot of distractions,” he explained.
The iconic New York venue allowed them to create a private atmosphere while still giving their family, friends and famous guests a night they would never forget.
And apparently, the celebration lasted well into the night — with Travis revealing that he and the guests eventually stayed until they were essentially kicked out.
Adam Sandler Had a Very Special Role
One of the biggest surprises from the wedding was the identity of the officiant.
Instead of choosing a traditional celebrity or religious figure, Taylor and Travis asked Adam Sandler to marry them.
Travis had nothing but praise for the actor, calling him the “best person on the planet.”
He also revealed that Sandler went through the process of becoming ordained in New York so he could officially marry the couple.
“For him to be up for getting ordained in the state of New York and marrying me and Taylor… it was absolutely insane,” Travis said.
It was a particularly fitting choice considering Sandler had already worked with Travis on Happy Gilmore 3, while Sandler’s family are also known to be big Taylor Swift fans.
Hollywood Stars and Childhood Friends Were All in One Room
The guest list was another unforgettable part of the night.
Some of the biggest names in entertainment were reportedly there, including Tom Cruise, Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks and Brad Pitt, alongside the couple’s closest friends and family members.
But according to Travis, that mix of worlds was one of his favorite parts of the entire celebration.
He described it as incredible to see people from his childhood suddenly connecting with Taylor’s family, friends and longtime circle.
“It’s just been so cool to see that world come together,” he said.
And that may have been what made the wedding feel so personal despite the enormous celebrity presence.
The Couple Wanted Everyone to Have Fun
Travis made it clear that the wedding wasn’t meant to feel like a stiff celebrity event.
The ceremony was important, but the couple also wanted everyone to relax and enjoy themselves.
“We wanted it to be a beautiful ceremony but we also wanted to make sure that everybody left there having some fun,” he said.
From the ceremony to the party that followed, Travis described the entire evening as something that felt almost impossible to put into words.
“It was a magical night,” he added.
Taylor Has Still Kept Completely Quiet
Despite Travis finally opening up, Taylor Swift herself has yet to publicly discuss the wedding in detail.
The couple also reportedly had a strict no-phones policy, and no official wedding photos have been released.
That secrecy has only made fans more curious about what actually happened inside Madison Square Garden that night.
For now, Travis’ comments offer one of the clearest glimpses yet into the celebration — and make one thing obvious: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wanted their wedding to be about the people they love, not the cameras watching them.
