‘Embarrassment’ & ‘Terrible’: Hoda Kotb’s ‘Today Show’ Exit Outrages Viewers for a Particular Reason

In an announcement made on Thursday, September 26, Hoda Kotb said she was leaving the “Today Show.” The internet response swiftly changed, despite the fact that many people were saddened by her leaving. Many viewers started to voice their disapproval of Kotb’s co-hosts.
Kotb disclosed that her choice to leave NBC after 26 years was mostly influenced by her decision to turn 60 and consider her future. She conveyed her sincere appreciation for her time at NBC in a letter to her coworkers and on live television.
In her message to the crew, the host stated, “I know I’m making the right decision, but it’s a painful one,” Family, especially her daughters Haley and Hope, had a significant role in her decision, she said, adding, “They deserve a bigger piece of my time pie.”

Many viewers expressed their displeasure at Kotb’s co-hosts, Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager, while many others concentrated on her remarkable career and legacy. “Congratulations . One thing we all have learned is time is a theif,” one user said, reflecting on the passing of time. The fact that she can make that choice is fantastic. She has a positive attitude, and I have liked her.
Despite all of these responses, Kotb’s time at NBC continues to be the high point of her history. For almost thirty years, she has been a well-liked character on the network.
She began her career at “Dateline” and then became a regular on the “Today Show,” co-hosting a number of segments, most notably with Bush Hager, who has been with NBC since 2009, and Kathie Lee Gifford.
Since joining the “Today Show” in 2011, Guthrie has held the positions of co-anchor and chief legal reporter for NBC.
