Inside Kathie Lee Giffords Nashville Home Where She Fell down the Stairs – Photos of Her Life with Grandkids & Dog

After the death of her husband, Kathie Lee Gifford opted for a more tranquil life in the countryside. Step inside her delightful home, where she has found peace following a period of intense loneliness in her previous marital residence.

Kathie Lee Gifford, a retired television personality, made a significant relocation to Nashville, Tennessee, after her notable tenure on the “Today” show alongside co-host Hoda Kotb. Since moving to Music City, she has candidly shared many aspects of her life, including a hospitalization related to an injury in 2024.

Her relocation to Nashville represented a new beginning, as she left behind her career on the “Today” show and the home in Connecticut she shared with her late husband, Frank Gifford.

Frank Gifford, a former NFL player turned commentator, passed away in August 2015, by which time their children, Cassidy and Cody Gifford, had already moved on from their childhood residence.

Following the loss of her spouse and her retirement from the “Today” show after an 11-year tenure, Kathie Lee embraced her new path by acquiring a $3.7 million brownstone in Franklin, Tennessee, through her production company, Widow’s Peak Pictures.

Reflecting on her choice, she expressed, “The work that I want to do isn’t here anymore. I’m an artist, a writer, a songwriter, and a director now. Those are the things that invigorate my spirit, and I’m aware that my time to pursue them is limited.”

In Nashville, Kathie Lee discovered warmth and community, describing it as a place filled with a ‘culture of kindness’ and happiness during an appearance on the “Today” show in 2019.

Reflecting on her decision to relocate, she recounted how her Connecticut home, once full of life and family, had transformed into a source of profound loneliness after losing Frank.

She shared, “It went from being the most vibrant and joyful environment—filled with the sounds of kids and dogs, the aroma of food on the grill—to feeling like a mortuary. I realized it was time to start anew; I needed to create a new life for myself, or I would be consumed by loneliness. It was overwhelming.”

Settling into her life in Nashville, Kathie Lee also relishes visits from family. In late 2019, she posted a touching photo of her kids, Cassidy and Cody, alongside their partners, during a family gathering at her Tennessee residence.

She captioned the moment, “So much fun having my kids and their partners visit Nashville finally.” Besides family get-togethers, she’s also open to friends visiting her home.

However, a visit in late July 2024 took an unexpected turn, which she shared during her appearance on the “Today” show.

Kathie Lee remembered the incident while recovering from hip surgery, explaining how she hurried to unlock the back door for a friend in the stifling heat of 100 degrees when she “went tumbling” down the stairs.

“It didn’t take much because I was weak at that spot,” she remarked in another interview, adding, “Before I knew it, I was back in the hospital with a fractured pelvis, front and back. That was far more painful than my hip surgery. The pelvis pain is unbearable.”

Once she recovered, Kathie Lee began to share more about her spacious 7,965-square-foot home, an inviting two-story dwelling featuring multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. The residence showcases her excellent taste, complete with vaulted ceilings and striking architectural details.

The kitchen boasts a charming, rustic design highlighted by a brick backsplash and a sizable metal range hood. Copper cookware hangs above the stove, and shelves display white dishes and glassware.

The granite countertops, featuring earthy tones, enhance the kitchen’s inviting atmosphere. Additionally, a grand piano adds a unique element to the spacious and airy environment.

The dining area is equipped with a round glass-top table and an intricately designed wooden base. The chairs, upholstered in soft fabric with tufted backs, create an elegant and comfortable dining experience.

Large windows offer views of a picturesque garden, while a potted orchid adorns the table, adding a refreshing touch. The dining room is filled with natural light, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance.

The living room features a cozy beige sofa with oversized, ruffled cushions. A wooden side table complements the space with a decorative glass vase and a small lamp.

Another nook showcases a plush white armchair positioned near a large wooden door, accented by light-colored paneled walls and natural hardwood flooring. A small black-framed photograph and a bookshelf provide subtle decor.

In her bedroom, a neatly made bed with a light quilt and layered pillows rests against an ornate, distressed headboard.

At the foot of the bed is a cushioned bench with studded detailing, while a wooden nightstand holds a simple lamp with a soft beige shade. The room exudes a calm, neutral color palette and cozy furnishings.

The bathroom features a white double vanity with sleek silver fixtures. A wall-mounted sconce with two soft lamps illuminates the area above the vanity.

A large mirror amplifies the brightness in the room, and a small black decorative item sits on the countertop to the left. The flooring is tiled in a light, natural hue.

Kathie Lee also has a dedicated office that showcases her various awards. Her expansive outdoor patio serves as a delightful space for relaxation with her dogs, surrounded by lush landscaping, flower beds, and neatly aligned trees. The outdoor area includes a gravel path edged by a low stone wall.

The landscaping features blooming white hydrangeas, artistically arranged with vibrant greenery, set against a backdrop of towering trees.

This estate has also become a beloved gathering place for Kathie Lee’s growing family. Proudly, she is now a grandmother to five — grandsons Frankie, Ford, and Finn, alongside granddaughters Rosie and Faith. In September 2025, Cody and his wife Erika welcomed their third child, daughter Faith, joining Cassidy and Ben’s daughter Rosie, born in June 2025. “Five grandchildren in three years,” the 72-year-old shared with excitement, calling it “precious pandemonium.”

Kathie Lee Gifford’s transition to Nashville has brought her tranquility, artistic inspiration, and a revitalized sense of purpose, all within the comfort of her inviting home, surrounded by family and friends.

Through her shared insights into her lovely home, the former television star continues to motivate her followers to embrace new beginnings and cherish the simple joys in life.
