Actor Chris Zylka, a former child actor who was once engaged to heiress Paris Hilton, has been arrested for assault and attempt to commit an offense plus misdemeanor disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and aggravated menacing, on December 4 near Cleveland, Ohio.
According to The Daily Mail, Zylka, 39, was attempting to break the window of a woman’s car when the police arrived to detail him. The local authorities had received a call reporting that “a man with no shirt or shoes on in the freezing cold was attempting to get into a vehicle with a gun.” When they arrived, the police said that Zylka was “foaming at the mouth” and appeared to have taken drugs. The actor reportedly was holding a cell phone, but brandishing it at the officers as if it were a gun.
Local TV station WKBN reported that Zylka was stunned with a taser repeatedly, but it took three officers to subdue him and put him in handcuffs. They reportedly had to dose him with ketamine to get him to calm down. Ultimately, Zylka was loaded into an ambulance. A warrant is out for the actor and model’s arrest, but he is not yet in police custody.
Zylka, who according to his Instagram is a fitness lover and avid marathon runner, dated Hilton from 2015 to 2018. The couple became engaged in January 2018, when Zylka famously gave the heiress a $2 million engagement ring, but broke up 10 months later.
Hilton told Cosmopolitan in 2020 that ending the engagement was “the best decision” she’d ever made. “I just don’t think [he] was the right person and I feel like I’m an incredible woman and I deserve someone so amazing. It just didn’t feel right. I’ve worked way too hard to just give my life to someone. They have to be perfect,” she told the outlet.
